Protea & Pine is my dear friend's woodworking business. Steve is from South Africa - the protea is the national flower - and now lives in Colorado so the logo and name is inspired to his heritage and the Rockies. He wanted it to be clean, strong and modern juxtaposed with the elegance of the protea flower.
These are a few samples of the logo variations we went through before landing on the final mark you see above. I experimented with hand drawn illustrations quite a bit before a geometric simplistic mark rose to the top.
