I am a practicing graphic designer, illustrator, and educator—and the person who will inevitably tell you the name of the typeface on the menu you’re looking at. I want to be a force for social change and equity as a designer. My work lives at the intersection of digital and handmade, where the charm of texture, imperfection, and nostalgia brings joy and comfort. I am inspired by mid-century modern design with its geometric shapes, clean lines, bright hues, and often whimsical subject matter.
I believe in the power of design to solve creative challenges. I find inspiration in the process of problem-solving. Curiosity is at the core of my approach, driving me to ask questions and gain a deep understanding of the needs of each project. In pursuit of my goal to be a designer for social change, I explore co-design as a method to amplify diverse voices and create more inclusive, impactful solutions. By collaborating closely with communities and stakeholders, I aim to create work that authentically represents and serves their needs, harnessing the collective creativity of shared experiences. I am conscious of the power I hold as I produce representations of society and help create access to information and ideas. I strive to wield that power with great intention, ensuring that my designs are both purposeful and compassionate. Quick with a smile and a laugh (if you’re looking for me in a crowd, just follow the sound of my laughter), I bring positivity and energy into every project. I’m always happy to hold a baby, admire photos of your cat, chat about your favorite sitcom, or share an embarrassing story. At the heart of my practice is the belief that design should be purposeful, compassionate, and human—and that joy is as essential a design principle as functionality. |
